Jazz giants Trichotomy & indie-classical kids Nonsemble present a one-off double-headline show at Cupo in the valley on September 2. It’s a night that is all about the music; no themes or gimmicks, just two of Australia’s most innovative ensembles doing what they love.
A familiar group for Brisbane audiences, Trichotomy blend their characteristic rhythmic flexibility with catchy melodies, shifting textures and a stunning group cohesiveness. Fresh from the studio recording work for their next album, they present a bag of new material.
Indie-classical septet Nonsemble will showcase their trademark blend of intricate contemporary composition and pop immediacy, drawing on minimalism, post-rock, indie and electronica. They’ll be performing a selection of tunes from all three releases to date, as well as some of their stunning audiovisual work.
Cupo is a relaxed warehouse venue in the heart of the valley, known for its intimate and memorable shows, and reasonable bar prices. It’s the perfect venue to catch two of Brisbane’s most unique groups up close & personal.
